Our take: A highly rated, rugged Sony speaker with a deep limited-time markdown.
Worth it, eh? Yes. It is one of the easiest small-speaker recommendations right now.

The Sony ULT Field 1 is a compact portable Bluetooth speaker built for taking music anywhere. Press the ULT button and it boosts the bass for a bigger sound than its size suggests.
It carries an IP67 rating, so it is waterproof, dustproof, rustproof and shockproof, and Sony rates the battery for up to 12 hours of playback. A detachable multi-way strap makes it easy to hang off a backpack or bike, and Sony’s sound diffusion processor helps spread audio around the space. It comes in black, off white, forest grey and orange.
It suits cottage weekends, beach days, camping and backyard hangouts, or anyone who wants a tough speaker they don’t have to baby. Audiophiles wanting stereo separation should look at bigger options, but for grab-and-go sound this is a strong pick.
