Our take: A big markdown on Ring’s newest battery video doorbell, with sharper 2K video than older models.
Worth it, eh? Yes for renters and anyone without doorbell wiring, as long as you are fine with a subscription for saved video.

The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K is the newest version of Ring’s wire-free video doorbell. It records in Retinal 2K with a wide-angle view and up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, so you can make out faces and parcels more clearly than on older 1080p models.
You get real-time motion alerts on your phone, plus Live View and Two-Way Talk to see and speak with whoever is at the door. The battery is built in and recharges over USB-C after you detach the doorbell with the included tool. Saved video history and AI-powered alerts need a Ring Protect subscription, sold separately.
It is a good fit for renters, condo owners and anyone who wants a video doorbell without running new wiring. This listing is the Matte Mocha finish.
