Our take: A very highly rated portable party speaker with a fair, not huge, discount.
Worth it, eh? Yes, if you host backyard get-togethers or karaoke nights and want big sound with lights.

The JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2 is a portable Bluetooth party speaker built for backyards, basements and get-togethers. It pairs JBL Pro Sound with an AI Sound Boost feature and a built-in light show with glowing patterns and strobe effects.
You get up to 15 hours of playtime on a charge, plus mic and guitar inputs with karaoke EQ tuning for sing-alongs. With Auracast you can link two of them for true stereo, and the JBL PartyBox app lets you control music, EQ and lights from your phone.
It suits anyone who wants a speaker that is louder and more fun than a small Bluetooth puck, without going to a full-size PartyBox. It is not a pocket speaker, so if you mostly listen on the go, a smaller model will travel better.
