LOONIE METER

Our take: A budget 2K pan/tilt camera that doubles as a baby or pet monitor through your phone.
Worth it, eh? Good value, but it’s app-based. If you want a dedicated parent screen, look at a traditional monitor.

TP-Link’s Tapo C246D is on sale at Amazon.ca. It’s sold as a baby monitor and pet camera and also works indoors or outdoors.
It records in 2K, pans and tilts to follow motion, and sends alerts to the Tapo app. Rated 4.4 stars from over 700 Amazon reviews.
A cost-effective way to check on a nursery from your phone, and it keeps working as a home camera after the baby years.
